Off Again

As I write this, we are high over New Mexico somewhere, on our way to Los Angeles. We are excited to stop off in Beijing for the annual Asian Missions Forum. We are excited to renew old mission acquaintances, here some uplifting messages, and even take in some sights in China. We will see the Great Wall; of course, along with Tiananmen Square, the Terra-cotta Warriors, and others I’m sure. We will visit the Olympic Game sights of last summer and hopefully get a taste of Chinese culture. We will miss you all and thank you for your prayers and kindness over the last few months.

My Favorite Pastime

I got several opportunities to see my Rangers baseball team play in Arlington. So far they are holding their own and doing quite well. Unlike previous years they have been winning with good pitching and defense. If they can start hitting like old times, they may even make the playoffs. Hope I don’t have to make an emergency trip home!
It is always more fun with friends and family with you. This year I was joined by Greg and Janice, Britt and Zac, Mandy and Jim Gardner, and of course Gail. Also Zac’s friend Blake joined us for one game. Great memories.

Getting Close

We are getting close to returning to Cambodia, not Rick falling off the roof! We are finalizing some repairs to the house as we begin to think about what we need to do to get ready for our departure. Rick is ordering some dental supplies and hopefully we will be taking some glasses back with us. In the morning we will leave for Fayetteville to help Greg and Janice move from apartment to house. It is nice to be here to help them. Last couple of times we were gone, so this is fun. Also, going to meet up with my great friend Shari Anderson in Springdale to catch up on each other! gail

Happy 4th

We pray everyone had a safe and happy holiday. We were blessed to have all the kids here for the weekend. Lots of love and laughter along with golf, water sports, baseball, dogs, friends and homemade ice cream! It is good to remember the freedoms we take for granted that many men and women have given their lives for our country. Our minister reminded us in a great sermon this morning that the greatest freedom we have is life in Christ. gail
