Baby Sam

Baby Sam is recovering very well from his intestinal resection last week. We thank God for his rapid recovery. If all goes well, he will be able to begin eating food tomorrow and go home on Saturday.
Gail and I are spending time each night with a new devotional book. The gist of the book is about finding your place in life. See if you recognize these quotes. “Unless you assume there is a God, life is meaningless.” Bertrand Russell, atheist. I had to think about this one for a while but it is pretty profound. Life is definitely not meaningless!

Dearest Rick and Gail;
We praise God for the transformation he does in our lives when we let him. We know it must not be easy to still be on the ground. But you are right when you say that God's hand is ther maybe to teach you patience, maybe to teach you more about his plan for the people there. All of this experiences and almost a year later have God's signature on them. You encourage us with your willingness to pour out yourselves and give. To surrender all of you and give it to the one that can do wonders with our lives. You have gone through a process and are still going so that you fix your eyes on things above. That opportunity is not given to just anybody. Jesus chose busy people and directed their lives to put their busy to work for Him. We love you very much and remember you and pray for you that God's mission is accomplished through you and so that you can see the immesurable love that Christ has for us always.
Your fellow servants
